The principle behind the BRD is very simple: as the load of a falling climber is applied – the carabiner is pulled into the scientifically engineered rope slots and the rope is squeezed between the carabiner and the BRD. The principle behind the BRD is very simple: as the load of a falling climber is applied – the carabiner is pulled into the scientifically engineered rope slots and the rope is squeezed between the carabiner and the BRD. The LiveWire Carabiner by Black Diamond is a biner designed with a large gate opening and the super efficient wire gate. If you are building quickdraws for the season, we suggest you using the LiveWire as your bottom biner.
